About the Opportunity

The Executive Director will build on Change Chemistry’s legacy of collaboration, scaling the organization’s mission and impact. This role offers an exciting platform for a mission-driven leader to guide Change Chemistry’s growth, expand membership, and strengthen partnerships. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will work with a team of six and collaborate closely with founder Joel Tickner, who will serve as a Strategic Advisor during the transition. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Mission Stewardship: Optimize governance, program offerings, and the business model to advance green and sustainable chemistry.
  • Financial Sustainability: Lead the organization in setting and achieving financial growth targets through membership expansion and other revenue sources aligned with our mission.
  • External Representation: Build strategic partnerships across sectors, representing Change Chemistry within the sustainable chemistry community.
  • Strategic Leadership: Oversee strategic plan implementation, in partnership with the Board.
  • Collaborative Culture: Foster a supportive, collaborative environment while hiring and mentoring future leaders.
  • Membership Engagement: Ensure member value delivery and impact, working closely with stakeholders.
  • Board Partnership: Serve as the primary liaison to the Board, supporting ongoing open Board-Management relations.

Qualifications

· Experience: 5-10+ years in a leadership role with a track record of scaling mission-driven organizations, ideally in sustainable chemistry or a related field.

  • Skills: Proven entrepreneurial and pragmatic management skills, financial growth strategy, and team empowerment.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated success in fostering cross-sector collaborations, with credibility among public, private, and social sectors.
  • Mindset: Entrepreneurial, results-oriented, and adaptable; unwavering commitment to sustainability.
