Innovators Roundtable

The Change Chemistry Innovators Roundtable is an annual, US based event where Change Chemistry members and non-members engage with diverse stakeholders to address challenges and opportunities, share best practices, discuss key sustainable chemistry topic areas, and identify areas for collaboration to accelerate the scale and adoption of green and sustainable chemistry solutions.

Chemistry is the foundation of many modern products and processes, and sustainable chemistry is key to reducing the environmental and health impacts of these products and processes. Through panel discussions, small group discussions, and networking events, the Innovators Roundtable provides an unique opportunity to explore sustainable chemistry innovations, discuss opportunities and barriers to driving change, and connect with others from the full value chain, including industry experts, leading innovators, non-governmental organizations, investors, and policy makers.

 2022 Innovators Roundtable Report

The 2022 Virtual Roundtable was held from March 7 - 10. Session topics included policy, molecular recycling for circularity, and driving ESG through sustainable chemistry. The event also included a virtual showcase, providing members an opportunity to highlight their innovations and goals.

The 2020 Innovators Roundtable was hosted by BASF, and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was held virtually throughout September and October as a 3 part series.

The Innovation Series began with a keynote and discussion exploring the critical role of diversity and inclusion in innovation. Then, panelist discussed how artificial intelligence, data compilation, and integration tools are leading the way to increase efficiency, productivity, and greater alignment along the value chain.

The Collaboration Series introduced Change Chemistry's circularity framework for companies to benchmark their efforts and identify innovation opportunities. This was followed by a member discussion of green chemistry's role in circularity. Finally, the critical role of transparency was highlighted in a dialogue between retailers and suppliers.

The Commercialization Series began with a discussion of emerging trends in the finance community that affect the adoption of more sustainable products. Then, reflecting on the ongoing pandemic, the session explored lessons learned about quickly adapting to new market conditions, shifting to meet demands, and commercializing new products.
