European Forum

With mounting regulatory pressure in Europe from the European Green Deal, investors, and market forces, it is more important than ever for sustainable chemistry to be an innovation and investment priority. Change Chemistry's European Forum brings companies, consulting firms, governments, and non-governmental organizations together to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with advancing green and sustainable chemistry in Europe and beyond.

Attendees of the European Forum will engage in discussion around supply chain collaboration, regulatory compliance, and market trends to develop a framework for future collaborative initiatives aimed at accelerating the adoption of safe and sustainable chemistry.

2024 European Forum

The 2024 European Forum was hosted by Dow at their Seneffe campus in Belgium. Key findings from the event include:

  • The chemical industry is ready for disruptive change, and the typical way of innovating needs to change too.
  • Transparency and data sharing across the supply chain are necessary to transforming the chemical industry. However, there is concern around misused or stolen data, making establishing trust key.
  • We must go beyond collaboration and build community to break down barrier and build trust.
  • Sustainable and safer chemical policies need to make business and financial sense to be widely adopted.
  • Holistic sustainable thinking that considers safe and sustainable chemistry is critical.
