2026 SCTF Category Pilot for DIY Construction Products
Safer Chemistry Transition Framework Workshop
December 7–8, 2026 | Henkel USA, Stamford, CT | By invitation only
Companies looking to reduce chemicals of concern in their products need practical tools for assessing hazards, setting their own priorities, and building support internally. This invitation-only workshop, convened by Change Chemistry and hosted by Henkel, brings together participants from across the construction products sector to learn about the Safer Chemistry Transition Framework and give feedback on it.
Over a day and a half, participants will:
- Share experiences with chemicals management, building internal support, and communicating about chemicals of concern
- Try out a product-level prioritization method on DIY construction products and give feedback on how clear and practical it is
- Discuss what information helps companies make informed decisions about chemical hazards and safer alternatives
- Explore what leadership needs to see to support the transition to safer chemistry, including links to risk, customer demand and regulation
- Identify next steps for developing the framework ahead of the March 2027 Summit & Roundtable
The workshop is highly interactive, with most of the time spent in discussion rather than presentations. It is conducted under antitrust guidelines and the Chatham House Rule. A non-attributed summary will be shared with participants and the broader membership afterward. The framework is a voluntary tool, and each company makes its own independent decisions about its products, suppliers and business practices.
Schedule: Monday, December 7, from 11:30 am ET (arrival and lunch) to Tuesday, December 8, at 1:00 pm ET. A group dinner is held on the evening of December 7.
Attendance is by invitation. For questions, please contact Jenny MacKellar.
