Professional Bio

Lynette Chung is Chief Sustainability Officer at Boortmalt, where she leads the company’s global sustainability strategy, including initiatives related to circular economy, environmental performance, and stakeholder engagement.
Chung was born in Sweden in 1977. She studied law at the University of Gothenburg and the National University of Singapore, and also pursued China studies in Beijing.

She began her professional career in 2001 at Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken, working in customer service and legal tax advisory. In 2004, she moved to Brussels to join BusinessEurope, the voice of European business, where she worked on corporate social responsibility. In 2005, she joined Eurometaux, the European association of the non-ferrous metals industry, holding various roles focused on environmental, trade, and industrial policy.

In 2011, Chung joined the specialty chemicals group Clariant International, where she held a range of sustainability and advocacy roles. Most recently, she served as Head of Corporate Sustainability Strategy and Advocacy, responsible for shaping the company’s sustainability strategy and positioning in key policy areas, as well as representing the company in international trade associations.

From July 2020, she served as Chief Sustainability Officer at Covestro, where she was responsible for sustainability, circular economy, and government affairs.
